COMING TOGETHER FOR FOOD AND JUSTICE
an evening to support GTC & our food justice work with Next Barn Over
15 Lawrence Plain Rd, Hadley, 5-8:30 @ Next Barn Over Farm
free and open to all!
Join GTC and Next Barn Over for good farm food, conversation, dancing and bonfire! Hear about our GTC EATS! Farm Share, a collaboration to open up healthy food access and build youth leadership in Springfield. Learn how you can support a more equitable food system that works for farmers and Springfield families. Come build bridges across the divides of our valley. We hope to see you there!
Thanks to your generous gifts, we not only reached our $20,000 fundraising goal this spring but surpassed it.
With the support of 215 wonderful friends, we raised $23,081! These funds are already being put to good use supporting our summer youth leadership development and growing work as well as building new infrastructure on our Walnut Street Farm.
• This summer, 30 youth will be growing with us all summer (20 totally new to GTC)
• Our markets and Farm Share opened mid-June, bringing delicious, healthy food to families throughout Springfield
• We are digging the foundation and hooking up utilities for a permanent farm stand on our Walnut Street Farm
• We’ve are finally growing food on Walnut St. We’ve planted new beds there this spring!
Come join us and see all the new happenings for yourself. All summer long, we are having monthly potluck parties at our Hancock St Farm. And you can always drop by to volunteer any Saturday!
Join us as we continue to build our Walnut Street Farm, the first community-owned urban agriculture space in the region.
We are bringing more access and equity to our damaged food system, while re-generating a beautiful green space in the heart of Mason Square. We bought this land from the City of Springfield in 2014 so that we could control our own destiny and invest in long term soil health and infrastructure.
How are we going to grow our Walnut Street Farm this year? With your support, we will:
