 Bicycles at GTC - Theft Update Bicycles are crucial to our work, as they allow our youth to run weekly deliveries of fresh produce to those families in our neighborhood who can't make it to our farm for pick up. We use them every day to get around our sites. We love our bikes! Unfortunately, last month our sheds were broken into and ALL 6 of our bicycles stolen! We need to replace our bikes, and also repair both sheds while putting into place better locking systems and a security camera. These are not costs in our budget, so we are turning to our community for help to make this happen!
1. Donate to our bike campaign! Make a gift of any size by clicking here. Our friends at River Valley Market have generously offered to match all gifts made up to $1,750! This will allow to repair our sheds, upgrade our security systems and purchase new trailer hitches and bikes. We are also happy to come talk with any group about our work if you would like to host a fundraiser to help us replace our bikes! 2. Donate a Bike: We are looking for adult bicycles (32 - 38 inch hybrid or sturdy road bikes) in good condition with working brakes that can handle a workout on city streets. Email us at [email protected] or call Ibrahim at 413-693-5340 x1 if you have a bike to donate. We ask that you do NOT drop off any bikes at our site at this time as we do not yet have a secure place to keep them. Shed repairs won't happen until later in October.
