HIP (HEALTHY INCENTIVES PROGRAM)

During the month of June the Springfield Food Policy Council is sponsoring Gardening The Community to offer eggs at $1 per dozen with a $5 purchase on Wednesdays and Saturdays at the Gardening The Community Farm Store! (Limit one per person).

Also, don't forget to use your HIP benefit to receive free fruits and vegetables!
If you have SNAP (EBT), you have HIP!
What is HIP?

The Healthy Incentives Program (HIP) provides monthly incentives to SNAP households when they purchase fresh, local, healthy vegetables and fruits from Massachusetts farmers at farmers' markets, farm stands, CSAs, and mobile markets. HIP was designed to serve the needs of low-income families in Massachusetts as well as support the local economy. The money spent at these retailers is immediately added back to the customer's SNAP card and can be spent at any SNAP retailer.
  • $40 for families of 1-2
  • $60 for families of 3-5
  • $80 for families of 6 or more

Where and how can I use my HIP benefit?
